The Wide Angle of View

AYR did not stay inactive towards the cross cutting dimensions of discrimination, poverty and gender inequality faced by Roma. The Wide Angle of View project was implemented in the Matej Bel University in Banska Bystrica from 2011 until 2012 where more than 400 non-Roma students participated in workshops and lectures in order to widen their knowledge about the situation of Roma people in Slovakia. University students had the opportunity to listen to personal statements of Roma about their experiences and perception of the acts of intolerance and negative attitudes.

The project aimed to raise awareness about the systematic discrimination of Roma people, to build critical thinking among university students and to enhance a better coexistence of Roma and non-Roma people.
